THE HELMET…

001 003

As the main mode of transportation here is either a moto or a tuk tuk, Jimmy & I wanted Zachary to have his own helmet.  Coupled with his new skateboard, we figured we really need to do this!  I knew that I could not get him his own helmet without him picking it out on his own.  1)  He would not wear it if he didn’t pick it out.  2)  He is stubborn, see #1.  Today I finally had the chance to take him to get “him’s own hemet!”.  Let’s just say, he is a VERY happy boy…that helmet went on and only came off for nap time, swimming and bed.  Nevermind you that his poor head was dripping in sweat.  This chronicles our little day with the Helmet:

Stop off at Brown Coffee.  Mama needed a GOOD java jolt.  Zachary and Mama walk into the store and Zachary is running into walls and has ahold of the pasty tongs and is clipping them around.  He tells me he wants a “quatladge roisant” and proceeds to march around the shop, smiling at everyone and banging his head on the wall or with his hand.  He gets his croissant and can’t get it into his mouth, but will not take the helmet off.  8 different tries of trying to fit that into his mouth later, he finally acquiesces and the pain au chocolat beats out the helmet.

Back to the tuk tuk and back on goes the helmet for the 3 block drive to our lunch restaurant.  He figured out how to drink tea, water, a smoothie, eat french fries, eat rice and play a game with his helmet on.

Next stop, home and a nap…however, he does ask to sleep with it!

Then to swimming.  Quite the site…my little guy walking to the pool with his trunks on and his helmet:

No…no…no…the snickers and fingers pointing and pictures being taken did destroy this boys mojo…he was PROUD of his helmet and there was nothing stopping him!

But to end the day, I could barely contain myself…he is normally fine with wearing his wet trunks home when it’s 85 degrees and we have a 3 minute ride to the house…but today he just HAD to wear one of his brothers shirts home…Good GOD…none of us could stop laughing!!!!
