Cambodia…Here we come!!!

Well…we did it…barely, somehow, I don’t know how, but we did it!  We enjoyed one more Thanksgiving with Mimi and some good friends…Christina & Zach’s girlfriend, Isabella…He INSISTED on walking her out and holding her hand!

Grammy treated us to pedicures before a movie with our buddy Asa and his parents…

The boys enjoyed their first movie…”Tangled”

We moved out of the house on Saturday, the 27th and into my parents timeshare for a few days.  Our last night in Indio, we got to enjoy the PENTHOUSE SUITE…talk about nice…we all had our own suites, our own private hot tub and LOTS and LOTS of room!  Poor Zach was confused…every hotel we checked into, he would say, “Look!  My new home…my new TV…my new bed!”.

Zach got to start enjoying “boy time” with Grampy & Uncle Bob…shower time and wanting to “be like Uncle Bob”.

Here’s our life…packed into 10 boxes and 2 suitcases…031

Anyway, we left Edinburgh Street and one of my very best friends drove in from San Clemente and spent the night with us…we loaded up the trailer and she drove us to LAX.

We left at 3:50 in the afternoon…everyone in their jammies and ready to go.  The flight was only 50% booked and we got the entire row in the bulkhead to ourselves.  It was GREAT…the kids were GREAT…good food…oh, OK…not really good…decent.  It was edible, but what do you do on a 14.5 hour flight?  You eat what they give you…watch some movies…over and over and over…take a little nap, or sleep the entire way (7 hours of sleep for Z and about 12 hours of sleep for the twins!)

We arrived in Taipei at 10 pm local time…fortunately, there is a “transit hotel” and you don’t leave the airport…don’t need a VISA and you don’t need to go thru security again…UN-fortunately, everyone’s clock was goofy and we used the room(s) (we were required to get 2 for the amount of people we had travelling) for playing and bathing.  It was nice to have the space to spread out…seeing how we had a 12 hour layover!

Breakfast at the airport was…well…a reality check.  Dad had some noodles with beef and I had a few bananas with some nasty “waffle thing” with Ketchup…At least our coffees were good!

We were ready to get on our next flight and get to our destination…3 hours sounded like it would be a short flight…but by then, everyone was WIPED out and cranky…puke, food, milk, tears…you name it.  I wasn’t surprised when the passengers moved out of the way so we could get off the plane first!  Lucky for us, Dada was waiting right at the gate.  If there ever was a movie moment, this was it.  Zach was pulling his carry on suitcase and looking everywhere for his Daddy…when he saw him, the lights in his eyes got about 100W brighter and he took off yelling, “Daddy, Daddy, Daddy!”…quite an emotional moment.  He held his daddy tight and kept telling me, “Look…it’s my Daddy!”

I thank GOD my parents were able to travel with me…I couldn’t have done it without them…Everyone had a boy to look after, a suitcase to pull…we had lots of arms to help out and I couldn’t be more grateful to them…on to the next chapter.  We LOVE you Grampy & Grammy!
