Zachary has been asking to swim in “The River” for the past year…I always tell him no…for one, the thing is FILTHY…but mainly, it is a HUGE river and dangerous…I’ve said no so many times, Zachary has come to his own conclusion that “only brown people are allowed to swim in the river”…(his list of “brown enough” people includes me…even if I am only “part brown because I have a white butt”)!!! Auntie Phavy swam the river for the a charity event and we went to cheer her on! We made it little family outing and headed over the Japanese Bridge and ended up at the finish line!
She offered to take him for a little dip in the river…and he was excited until he hit the mud (how will he ever commercial fish in Alaska???)…he may not be brown, but he went local and “dipped” in his undies!
While Daddy, the boys and Auntie Leak cheered him on from above!
We ran around for a bit and then took a drive to check out some of the real estate on the island…rentable for about $1500 per month!!
Definitely a different world here…but we love it!
