Doors must remain shut…

I guess it’s that time of year…a lot of rain is causing some flooding…causing a lot of wildlife to be driven to different areas…but no matter how you look at it…our doors and windows will remain SHUT for QUITE awhile after today’s visitor:…

Yes…that is a big ssssssnake (about 6’ long)…and yes…mama freaked out…and yes, she is eternally grateful that today was Mr. To’s day off!  He has rid the world of THAT nasty little beast!  He was brave and grabbed a long assed bamboo stick and beat the crap out of it…it was fast and furious…thankful me and my boys weren’t out running around in our back yard…and VERY excited to be moving in a couple of months!  No more freaky jungle behind our house!

Just another day…

Nope…this is NOT an unusual afternoon here…you see puddles like this all of the time…and I LOVE it!  I love these afternoon thunderstorms…I’ll be bummed when the rainy season ends…005006007

Everyone just takes their shoes off and plunges in…except for me…I’m afraid some rat or other unmentionable would brush my ankles (or knees) and I might pee my pants…I’m not THAT local…yet!

Just for a point of reference…this isn’t a puddle…it’s the road…and not just a portion of the road, but a good 6 or 7 blocks…it’s like this all over town during a good rain in the afternoon…a few hours later, you’d never know!

A party…

Had a birthday party to attend last week and the boys came too!      I had THE cutest photo of me and my 3 boys, but I accidentally deleted it…Blame is TOTALLY being place on the Chivas 25 and the “drinking rules of Cambodia”!

Zachary was too busy trying to get his friends Gucci’s on and riding scooters in the house!  Birthday parties here are the best!

Where’d the year go???

At this time last year I was shuttling the boys around in a mini-van, double fisting the car carriers and begging Zachary to “Please hold on to the handle!”…Sunday was a mellow day and I decided to go out for a drive with the boys to feel a little bit of sanity and self sufficiency…success and look how big these guys are now:

I didn’t pull out the “five point harness” seats, but I used the booster to cruise around town…Trevor LOVED it and couldn’t stop giggling to himself…here is another face he loves to make coupled with a “Ooooo” sound!

In fact, the power was out for about 8 hours yesterday and Jim came home from watching football and Trevor was “ooooss” and “aaaaaaass” pointing at the fan “telling daddy that it wasn’t working”!!!

Brandon is at it too!!!

This video is about 2 weeks old and Brandon is actually much better now…(I guess that’s a note to self…tape Brando walking!)

Happy Boys!

I try and take these boys with me as much as possible…they get to see so much and experience so many things…it really is good for their brains to interact with life in this way…stimulus…it’s a good thing…even when mommy takes them to the “hardware store” and does this:

Hey…isn’t life about making memories and having a few laughs…OK, really, a whole lot of laughs!  I’m not perfect…I get mad sometimes, I laugh too loud, talk too loud, speak my mind, show too much cleavage, swear, have too much to drink, offer empty threats, am maybe slightly a perfectionist, a little OCD, yeah, maybe one person thinks I should discipline differently swinging from one side of the spectrum to the other…well, the truth is, I could go on and on…but when it is all said and done, I want to be able to look back and realize I took those times and made them special…I stopped to look at the frog…that I remembered that these days don’t last forever…that I won’t always be # 1 (oh, heartbreaking), that they won’t always want kisses and cuddles from me…period.  To hear these giggles fill my house really reminds me that I am living the best days of my life…sure, some days are tougher than others, but what do we live for?  It will go by so so fast and before I know it, they’ll be in their own homes…and I’ll wish I was chasing those little giggles around the couch playing peek-a-boo or sitting on a big stuffed pillow making pig noises or cuddling a sick boy close to my chest or watching those chubby little fingers throwing rocks into the river or being woken with a “Mommy, I just love you” at 5:30 am or running back to the house for “one more kiss”…No, I’m not perfect, but one thing I do perfectly is LOVE THESE BOYS.

Above and Beyond…

My boys come out big…they start bigger and they stay bigger!  I’m writing about this almost a month late, but the twins have had their one year appointment and I’ve been busy…boring news for those who aren’t a grandparent or an aunt or an uncle…but this is how I share, so take it or leave it!

Trevor:

012

28 pounds (99%), 31.5 inches (95%)

He’s gained almost 20 pounds and grown about a foot in the last year…Overall, he is off the chart for his height & weight combined!  Yay you…good eating baby boy!

Brandon:

037

27.5 pounds (99%), 31.1 inches (92%)

You, sweet boy, have gained OVER 20 pounds and almost a foot in the past year…and you are ALSO off the charts for your height and weight combined!

I know I know…I always going on and on about these boys…but how lucky can I be?  All of these sweet faces to love and snuggle with…after I was able to carry them to term and deliver them safely…you bet I’m gonna talk about them…they are my LIFE!

The bird says “quack”…

Well, we are in it!  Trevor is walking (and so is Brandon, just not as fluid as T) and they love their books and learning new words and making new sounds!  We took an afternoon to go and feed the pigeons last week and Trevor LOVED chasing those poor guys around…Brandon was happy to stay in my arms!

Here is my FAVORITE little Trevor doing his thing!!!!
